You cannot see your own church anymore. Nobody who has been somewhere for years can. You walk past the confusing sign every week without registering it, because you already know where the nursery is.
This is a walkthrough for seeing it again. Do it once, take an hour, and write down what you find.
The rule: you are not allowed to fix anything while you walk. Only write it down. Fixing as you go means you stop looking.
Do this on a normal Sunday, not Easter. And if you can, ask someone who has never been to your church to do it with you. Their first ten minutes are worth more than your ten years.
The question: could a stranger get from their car to a seat without asking anyone? If not, that is not a signage problem, it is a greeting problem.
Walk to the sidewalk and look back at your building like you have never seen it.
The hardest question in this whole walkthrough: is there a group of people having a conversation that a stranger could not join? There always is. That is not a character flaw of your church, it is what a family looks like from outside.
Parents decide about your church here, before they hear a word of the sermon.
If the answer to the last one is no, everything upstream of it was wasted.
You will have 15 to 30 items. Do not fix them all.
Circle the three that a stranger would notice in their first five minutes. Almost always: the parking lot, the person at the door, and the kids check-in. Those three shape the whole experience and none of them are the sermon.
Fix those three before you touch anything else.
Everything drifts back. The sign gets faded, the greeter moves away, the coffee runs out at 9:40 and nobody refills it. This is a recurring audit, not a project.
LeadMyFlock handles the last item on this list, knowing on Monday that a visitor was there and following up automatically. The other seven sections are yours, and no software fixes them.
